Not like a wedding isn’t beautiful, no matter what time of year it is! But the reason why June is one of the most popular months for saying “I do” is because the weather is warm, the sun sets late and you can enjoy the great outdoors long into the evening with your loved ones and friends.

Maybe you’re putting the finishing touches on your own summer wedding and you’d like to add a few summer trends into it, here are 12 that definitely caught our eye.

Wooden Hoops

Are you looking for a creative backdrop to stand in front of while exchanging your vows or something cool to hang from the trees for your reception? Try some wedding hoops. They’re aesthetically-appealing, affordable and, should you want to make them yourself, a fun DIY project.

Mirrors are BIG right now! This is a cool element to incorporate into your wedding pics, or you can use them to write announcements or to use as a display on your buffet tables.

Snacks Before the Wedding

One thing that you do have to consider is how hot the weather can be during this time of the year. Cool some of your guests off by serving them some snacks prior to the ceremony. Mexican cuisine is trending (just an FYI).

Neck Veils

Veils are getting an update with ingenious styling tricks. Sachin & Babi showed two options: wrapped around the neck to double as jewelry, or worn across the shoulders like a modern shawl. Meanwhile Alyne took on the birdcage veil with a simple wrap across the face. Left to right: Sachin & Babi, Alyne, Sachin & Babi

Beach-styled wedding gowns are always a really big hit! Something else that’s getting a lot of attention this summer are casual-looking wedding dresses. If you decide to take either of these routes, one way to catch your guests—and groom—off guard is to rock a veil around your neck. Just tie some lace or tulle around it and you’re good to go!

Pink Blush Wedding Party Dresses

Elegant and Romantic Bridesmaid Dresses:

Really bright colors (the brighter the better, in fact) are also super popular right now! But if you want to try something that’s more subtle and romantic, pink blush will give you just what you’re looking for; not only for your bridesmaids and flower girl, but also your mothers and…even you if you’d prefer to not go the white route.

Creative Bow Ties

Bow ties always make groomsmen look so handsome. As far as how they should wear them this summer season, the more creative and out-of-the-box, the better!

“Soft Petal” Flowers

This makes me happy (tea roses, peonies, ranunculus, astilbe... most of my favorite things!):

You can NEVER have enough flowers at a summer wedding, that’s for sure! Bouquets that are trending these days include dahlias, peonies and ranunculus. Carry them down the aisle and also use some loose petals to place on your reception tables. They’re pretty and have such sweet scents to them.

Instagram Video Edits

Bridesmaids and groomsmen - beautiful pictures!:

Hopefully, you’re going to put a videographer in your wedding day budget. Look for one who offers Instagram video edits as one of their packages. They are basically 60 to 90-second shots that look like cinematic trailers. (We like these A LOT!)

“Childhood Memories” Foods

Weddings are the perfect “marriage” of past memories and looking ahead. Take a walk down memory lane with your loved ones by serving up some of you and yours favorite foods from your childhood! Your guests will absolutely LOVE it! Plus, it’s a great conversation starter too.

Infused Water Bar

A great way to keep guests refreshed at a summer reception. Sooo pretty and so simple to make! Infused water is great for any celebration!:

Mimosa and bubble bars are big drinking trends. If you don’t consume alcohol or you want to refresh your friends in some of the healthiest ways possible, add an infused water bar too. Click here for some of our favorite recipes.

Strawberries and Donuts Kabobs

Kabobs are always a lot of fun for kids and adults alike. You can go the traditional route with some fruit and grilled veggie ones. Or, switch it up a bit by adding some fruit to a dessert food. Maybe strawberries and cheesecake bits or donuts?

Another popular color this summer is metallic. One that we really like is copper! You can have your bridesmaids wear this color, or you can accent it with ribbons, bows or as a part of your wedding cake. The perfect summer wedding touch!
